Today was a very bad, awful, no good day💔We lost our friend Pika @pika_outofthe_hole . Liesl @rescuelifebleu is Pika's mom and the founder and Executive Director of @luvabledogrescue Without Liesl and Luvable, I would not be with my family or getting the care and help I need to have my best chance.
Liesl is so special to my mom and dad-in fact they are family💗We all live together at the rescue and share a very special connection. I was not there today but my mom and dad were..it was a very sad day😓Pika touched so many lives and became such a special rescue dog ambassador, it is hard to imagine her not being here. Today I'm pretty proud of progressing with my assisted pull-ups. I've been using resistance bands on a pull-up bar for over two months now. I'm slowly lowering the strength of the bands and my scrawny arms are getting stronger. Today I used a new, weaker band...which means I have to use more of my own strength and rely less on the band. I'd say this band is about a level 3 if I'm going from level 5 (most resistance) to level 1 (very weak band).
I've really been taking my time with this goal this year. Two years ago, I injured myself from trying to accomplish my pull-up goal too fast (and had to recover for over a year)!
I know two months seems like a long time to keep working on something and still be unable to do it. But things take time. It's better to be slow and consistent than to be too fast and get injured or give up.
