Jackson-based artist Kathryn Turner had her first painting added to the permanent collection of the National Museum of Wildlife Art in 1987, when she was still in high school! Today the Museum has four Turner paintings, including this one, Three Matriarchs. || I'm super psyched on Turner right now because I profiled her for the NMWA's 2018 magazine, Call of the Wild. || What did I learn? Turner is the 4th gen to grow up on the @trianglexranch in Grand Teton National Park and was just the featured artist at the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, where she KILLED it!! ☄☄⚡|| Turner says this painting, Three Matriarchs, “took me about three years to complete because I wasn’t good enough to finish it when I started it. It was that painting that called me forward to develop enough artistic sensibility and skill to really say what I wanted to say.” || The painting was inspired by one of Turner’s childhood ranch chores, waking early to be in the saddle of a 🐎 by 4:30 and riding down into the river bottom to wrangle in all the horses the ranch would use that day. As she rode through the cottonwoods lining the Snake River, “I’d see the whole riparian ecosystem waking up and the ghost shadows of cow elk and their calves. I wanted to create a painting about that,” she says. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

FRANCESCA CECILI [@archi_pe]... "I’m an architect and a photographer from Rome, Italy. I graduated in Architecture last year, also I’ve studied art and design in high school. In architecture the photograph it’s very important, but it’s very attached to reality and full of artificial elements. With my picture I try to detach myself from this reality, indeed my work primarily focuses on natural elements. I try to explore the vastness of the sky and I focus on themes of colors, shapes, dreams and unknown territory in my mind. I photograph a lot of clouds, maybe because they’re unpredictable and always I finds in them different things. Every time nature makes you astonished and makes you fall in love. Nature is a way of escape, from work, from reality, and sometimes from the city that surrounds you. My goal is to make people dream more, look around, dwell on the little things, because, in my opinion, the simple things are the most beautiful."

Leave #JossWhedon alone, first of all...if it wasn’t for what he did with #TheAvengers there wouldn’t even be a DCEU so he deserves some respect, secondly don’t blame Joss for how Justice League turned out...blame Warner Brothers
