"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment. . . . We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails. For maximum happiness, peace, and contentment, may we choose a positive attitude."
-President Thomas S. Monson
I will never forget this one day a number of years just after beginning my first sales job. I was having a hard time closing sales, and I was allowing myself to become frustrated; I began carrying with me a bad disposition into working with my following client. After asking one of my managers for help, she taught me a lesson that I will never forget. She wrote on a piece of paper the following:
Attitude → Actions → Results ↻
She said that everything begins with my attitude. If I can choose to change my attitude for the better, my actions would be better, and in the end I would have better results! I've become a much happier person as a result of this lesson!
Over the past few years I've learned that our perspective is so incredibly important! There are some people who have more money than they know what to do with it, yet they're still miserable. Also, there are some people who are broke, but they are far from poor; they are some of the happiest people in the world! Happiness is not a result of the things that we have or are given in this life; it is a choice!
How can you change your perspective to see the good in all things and see the blessings Heavenly Father is giving you?
