Not gonna lie.. only having one day off during the week now...Has us questioning life.
But, when you come in on Sundays and tell us how much you love us being open that day, how can you not enjoy the day?
We spent the morning at the shop watching Belgium Vs. Panama football and prepped glazed for this weeks donuts.
Our flavors this week:
Chocolate Coffee Caramel
Fudge Brownie (walnuts)
We have a new little rescue puppy and she is bringing so much joy to our little family. We're spending the day making some changes to our yard to give her some fun freedoms.
Tonight we get to spend time on our bikes with @hcbelbin with the Devon Bicycle Association.
What do you like to do on your day off?
How do you feel about recreational cycling? Do you have children or teens that love to get out on a bike?
There is a great patch of land, that is owned by the State Government, just across the car park from A.P. Hinds Reserve, Bayswater (top photo). Over the last 18 months I’ve walked through here many times, met with recreational cyclists, spoken with some of the surrounding community groups and sporting clubs around my ideas to utilise this area.
I think we have a great opportunity to do a recreational bike/skills track that is close by for local children, teens and adults, in a natural bush setting (no tree removal!) and right on a principal shared path.
I am moving the following motion at the Council meeting on Tuesday 26 June. “That Council request the City to prepare a report on the feasibility of integrating a bike trail into the Hinds Reserve (to the North of the car park area). The report should be prepared in liaison with Westcycle and include the estimated costs, feasibility, and community engagement approaches proposed; as well as identify external funding opportunities for the project with the aim of the project being fully funded by external sources. The report should be delivered by the October round of meetings." Top photo: The area at Hinds Reserve.

Nb: There is no intent to include the boardwalk as part of the trail. #westcycle#mybaysie#recreationalcycling#bikeskills#bikepark#bike#mountainbike#bayswater
2 pictures of front wheel tap log hop (I call this level 4 of 5). We use this all the time on trail to get up and over things. (Pic1) Aggressive position (chin over stem/hips over saddle/elbows out into the lift, tap/bounce front wheel on top and then (pic2) push it forward. A log cut out like this one is a great tool for practicing. Make sure you have front wheel/rear wheel figured out on grass over a stick before trying!
