Breaking: Jaguars release WR Allen Hurns. This move will save $7M in cap space. Hurns, 26, has 484 receiving yards in just 2 games in a season that was shortened to 10 games due to injury. He has been dealing with injuries since he was rewarded with an extension by the Jags for his amazing 2015 campaign, where he had 1031 receiving yards and 10 TDs. He still is an amazing vertical threat, with solid speed and a big frame at 6’3”” and 200 pounds. In the right system, he could see his numbers go back up. Here are some possible fits.
Cowboys: The Cowboys lacked a solid downfield vertical passing attack in 2017. Hurns could help Dak Prescott’s development a lot.
Saints: The Saints have been looking for red zone threats, and an extra WR. Hurns fits the bill in both of those categories. Drew Brees should be able to get the best out of Hurns.
Rams: After losing Sammy Watkins, the Rams need to find a solid replacement. Offensive master mind Sean McVay should be able to maximize Hurns’ potential
Seahawks: After losing Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson, the Seahawks need another solid receiver for Russell Wilson. They have been linked to Terrell Pryor, and Hurns makes as much sense if not more.
Jets: The Jets are reportingly interested in Hurns. Robby Anderson’s future is unknown after he was arrested for nine different charges. Hurns could be a solid immediate replacement for Anderson, and would add nice WR depth to help out the QB they draft.
Other teams to keep an eye on: 49ers, Raiders, Bills, Broncos, Cardinals, and Pats (yes really).
A classic meme for your Tuesday... and a little chat below
So I've not been very active on here, I know....and I'm sorry. I'm working on some things to make this page better in the offseason. But as decisions have been made on and about our team, I have noticed that our attitudes towards other people are not where they should be. I know everyone is entitled to their opinions and it's a free country and all that jazz... BUT I do not want our fans to be labeled as rude, or mouthy, or butthurt, or any of those names. We should be faithful to people who are no longer on our team, we don't need to turn around and talk about how terrible they are when they have played their hearts out for our team. I do not like how this offseason has gone so far and it breaks my heart to see so many people betray some of our best veterans.
Sorry for the rant, but I felt like it needed to be said.
