☕️I don’t mean to start the week off like Mrs. Norris but if I see another ad for a detox or cleanse or reset or boost I'm going to punch myself square in the jejunum so let's clear the air once and for all.
🦄Detox cleanses and juices and pills and resets and kits and packs and things of the sort are Dementors of the fitness industry. They'll trap you in a corner, suck all the good out of the room, make your insides go ice cold, lower their hoods, and take your soul for their own.
☕️Muggles call them marketing scams.
☕️Your body is equipped with everything it needs (a functioning liver, kidneys, skin, etc) to "detox" on a daily basis. These over priced products and juices and pills do nothing other than severely restrict calories (so you lose weight fast) and they usually include laxatives (which is why you end up expelliarmus-ing a tri-wizard champion amount dookie rainbows straight outa your whoopie pie.
☕️These detoxes and cleanses and pills and resets aren’t healthy. They don’t cleanse your body of toxins. And they arent the key to sustainable fat loss.
🦄If you want to do that, you just need to live an overall healthy lifestyle. Strength train several times/week. Eat a butt load of fruits and veggies. Do metabolic conditioning several times/week. Drink lots of water & stay hydrated. Get enough sleep.
☕️And don't forget to laugh - that's the best detox of all.
🦄I'm not one to hate on others in the industry but enough is enough - if someone tries selling you a cleanse or detox or kit or reset or whatever...they're the muggle version of Mundungus Fletcher. They're trying to wiggle their knobbly little fingers right down your pocket to take your money and disapparate.
☕️Health is far simpler than expensive cleanse bathroom breaks. Don't waste your money. Stick to the basics and do what science has shown to work time and again. If it sounds too good to be true...it is.
Since I shared my rant the other day about my client NOT doing her exercises - I figured I should prob follow through on doing my own. 😬😂. Due to #dislocating my #shoulder (which had been partially separated ages ago due to high school sports - #track & aggravated w #swim 😬) a few years ago @ a freaking #trampolinepark 👎, I NEED to keep up w some sort of add #shoulderstrengthening ESP if I’m using my body more doing #massage.
I can get away w a lot due to a decent amount of strength & know how w #bodymechanics, but there is a point of diminishing returns where stress outweighs the support I currently have w these #ligaments.
SO, the story has never been over - I just need to do my freaking exercises!
This is called #leaningintothewind & I learned it from my #kettlebellguru Jason Brown from @kettlebellathletics who I studied like a hawk for YEARS years ago 🙏♥️. This exercise is SUCH a life saver for ppl w #rotatorcuff stuff, as well as (clearly) #shoulderstability issues.

REPLENISH YOURSELF // Yayy, the sun is shining (and for me maternity-leave has started!!). Time for sunbathing and chilling in the park or on the beach. But of course make sure you drink enough to stay hydrated and avoid headaches, achy or red skin, inflammations and certainly hot heated discussions. One of the best Ayurvedic tips I can give you is to start drinking coconut water on a daily basis as it quenches even the strongest thirst, creates moist in the body and rebuilds your bodily fluids. As we all know (once we have experienced drinking coconut water!) one of the main qualities (Gunas) is the cooling effect. This cooling effect works as a shooting anti-inflammatory for your (maybe even sun red) skin and gut. It simply replenishes all your cell membranes which helps you to stay lubricated while at the same time it cleanses your liver and nourishes your kidneys...and last but not least, it is sweet, refreshing and DELICIOUS!
