My second #ezyokekal live in the snow at minus 24 Celsius! Thanks to Kate @fabrickated for hosting this very empowering knit-along with endless possibilities! ❄❄❄ Swipe to see more 😨
Pour ce tricot, il n'y a pas de patron, mais plutôt une méthode, celle de #elizabethzimmermann, ouvrant sur une infinité de possibles! ⛄⛄⛄ Glissez pour voir d'autres photos 😨
As per my sketch, my second #ezyokekal @fabrickated should be red and brown with stripes, but I am now toying with the idea of adding some off-white stripes to lighten the whole thing. Yes, no, dunno? #jetricoteaulieudetravailler#knittersofinstagram
I have finished my second #ezyokekal - a less fitted black version with the same Icelandic pattern yoke as my red version. I'm learning so much and feeling so much more confident knitting virtually pattern-free, thanks to @fabrickated and #elizabethzimmermann
One set of decreases and about three inches to go and the body of my #ezyokekal sweater is done. I'm not sure if I'm trying to knit my grief into submission or if I'm going through the motions of carrying on. The sweater will have a pop of red colorwork on the yoke, so won't be as sad as it looks right now once it is finished. I just hope I can bring myself to wear it...#iknit#knitting#handmadewardrobe
#sewphotohop Day 26 - According to the Cambridge dictionary, "a labour of love is a piece of hard work that you do because you enjoy it and not because you will receive money or praise for it, or because you need to do it". While most of my sewing projects would qualify, the yoked sweater I knitted last summer with Kate's guidance @fabrickated was a true labour of love. #bestgraftingever#knittersofinstagram
Almost there! Thanks to @fabrickated for the prompt, I have fallen slightly out of instagram these past couple of weeks due to some other exciting stuff happening (watch this space!). And yet here it is, my cropped #EZYokeKAL jumper in all its glory 😍You can't really see it from the pictures but there is some funkiness in the shape of the neck, and I've been debating for days if I should frog it and re-do it.. in the meantime I've settled on a rolled hem for neck and sleeves and a contrasting sewn hem for the waist. Then it's bath time for this baby!
Many many thanks to @colourmartyarns for the amazing purple merino wool and to the always lovely @fabrickated for the extra colours, patience and advice.
On a side note: coordinated mitts? Yay or nay? 🤔
Choices, choices, choices... now that my #EZYokeKAL is almost completed (!!) I'm looking at the next knitting endeavour.
Top L: @andisatt Mary Mead cardi
Top R: Marilyn Jumper (inspired by @zoesews' amazing blue one!)
Bottom L: thanks to @camillavaddk for the inspiration!
Bottom R: since I ended up having an entirely different pattern for my yoke, shall I go for this one now? (But do I really need 2 Yoke jumpers?!) #knitting#knittinglife#knittingpattern#knittersofinstagram#toughchoices
My red #ezyokekal jumper is finished! Took two months, three countries and a few tv series. Thanks @fabrickated for hosting. I've learned to trust myself and knitted this without a pattern and just with Elizabeth Zimmerman's basic instructions
#sewphotohop starts today! Thank you Rachel @houseofpinheiro @minervacrafts for organising it. I am Kate with a blog called Fabrickated. I have been sewing since the 1980s when I got my city and guilds in Fashion. Started knitting a year ago and love learning. In our holiday home in the Cotswolds cutting out on our kitchen worktop, wearing my #ezyokekal sweater. Looking forward to learning more about you all.
#ezyokekal#kitchenerstitch#elizabethzimmermann I'm quite proud of my kitchener stitch. Knit one pop it off, swivel, purl one pull it through..Thank you lovely lady on YouTube and as always thank you @fabrickated for the inspiration. X
#EZYokeKAL update!! I don't know why I tried second guessing @fabrickated suggestions to compliment my purple with pinks.. after so much pondering it is just perfect! The grey got in as I didn't have enough pale pink (which I'm going to use at the neck) and considering frogging the last few rows as the drastic diminutions make so that my zig zagging doesn't match as I wanted... Thoughts?
