Congrats to all of the 2018 grads🎓!
🎉You did it🎉! With the school year at a close and graduations happening across the nation, I couldn't help but think back to one of the happiest days of my life 🏁🏆. Thru determination and dedication I achieved a life goal, at last.
I was barely 18 when I left home (San Diego @ that time) to attend college in Tallahassee, Florida...2 hours from my hometown: Jacksonville.
I was young, ambitious and green.
I was easily distracted by the ladies, the parties and any and everything else there was to get into.
My mindset was nowhere near where it needed to be to complete the task at hand.
Many, many lessons were learned from my time in Tally.
I started making 💰 and I put my education on hold.
Fast forward to when I got the motivation to go back, I said to myself "If you're gonna go back and finish, you might as well go big."...
I applied to Mercer University and was surprised that I got in 😮. I knew that I had to come correct this time.
My mind was in a more mature, focused place.
I was invited to be a Student Ambassador for the University shortly after a few semesters, and I was also invited to join the ranks of The National Society of Leadership and Success.
I had SOOO much to prove to myself, my family and Mercer.
It all went by so fast💨, next thing you know I was walking across that stage a proud college graduate, Mercer Alumni at that 🙏🏾. I was blessed to have my parents, siblings and my now spouse in attendance for commencement (for some reason, The Creator had other plans for my daughter's flight that was supposed to get her to Atlanta in time for graduation). I know that college isn't for everyone. I wrote all of that to hopefully inspire someone to go back and re-visit one or more of their goals.
You CAN do it 💪🏾!
What better time than now!?
