Here at Maverick, we are always on the move, teaching classes all over London. So when it comes to using props, smaller items are much easier to transport around. The humble tennis ball isn’t just tiny, but it has a multitude of uses. Hold between the ankles for tennis ball rising, which will challenge your spinal stability while also encouraging movement in the hips, knees and ankle joints. Have a little muscle tension someplace? Place the ball on the area in question, and apply a little pressure and movement while leading on a hard surface (ie lean against a wall if it’s your back you are focusing on, or the floor if it’s a leg) - it’s like a mini deep tissue massage. And my particular favourite which is great if you’ve been on your feet all day, or perfect to perform at your desk or even on a long haul flight; simple place the tennis ball under your bare foot, and while standing or sitting, move the foot front and back, side to side and in circles. An instant stress reliever!

The Lats were always my weak link. This drill was introduced to me by @portal.ido
It really helps me engaging the Back. It's also a great progression on my way to the 1-Arm Chin Up.
•Start Hanging position.
•Pull yourself up to the 9090 position.
•90 degrees @ the Elbows & Shoulders.
•Concentrate on pulling the Elbows down.
•Keep Chest up & Shoulders externally rotated.
•Legs: try different positions. Keeping them straight work the Hip Flexors.
•4 sets of 8-15 seconds holds, 2 mins rest, 2x / week.

Everyone’s been asking me if something is up.
Surprised and curious, I asked why? 🤔 They said I just seem so much happier. I know it sounds 🧀 but a couple of weeks ago, I decided to let go of all the toxicity I was holding onto 🎈. Whether it be grudges, fallouts, things I blamed myself for etc. I let go of places that no longer served me 👋🏽. And, I decided to spend this life of mine doing what I love most (health and fitness) 💪🏽😍💦. It wasn’t my intentional plan to become, “happier”, but it just happened. 🧐 I always thought to be happy you had to be surrounded by uplifting people… that you had to be in positive environments, doing what your heart beats for… and I figured, that’s exactly where happiness lies 🤗. We’ve heard it time in and time out, but life truly is too short to be spending it unhappy ⏰. When you do what you love it lights you up! Every day is just so unexplainably fulfilling. 💁🏼♀️ So, if anyone is reading this and has some unresolved situations or issues that require your attention — DO IT. Find out what it is and do it for yourself ❤️💙.
