SATURDAY 02/24 WORKOUT
nothing interesting about today’s workout. started with a 165x4x4 on decline bench, then moved onto 290x1+2x4 oh hang deadlifts where the first rep was a full deadlift and the last two i would bring the plates close to the ground, but not touch, then rep back up. this was a great way to workout and form! finished with some back, front delts, bi’s, and stretching.
• #bermese dogs came out today from @sockdrawer! time for chick-fil-a receipt day then hw for the rest of the day.
on a side note, i hosted a bonfire yesterday and it was the most relaxing thing ever! being able to enjoy the sounds of nature and the comfort of friends was much needed after a midterm season. i recommend y’all try it! #getbettertoday#alohasprit
Pretty hit and miss with sumo deadlifts yesterday. Top set 200kg 4 PR (but I wanted 7 or 8 reps) down set 157.5kg 6. Didnt hit the variables to ensure a good session, just being in a calorie surplus doesnt make me invincible.
Feelin' good today so I decided to do something I haven't tried before. Previously. My 315 max rep was 2 (really 3 but I needed a spot for the last bit) and my 1rep max was 345.
Today, I wanted to test out my strength so I decided I wanted to go for a 5x3 of 315. Ended up doing 4x3 since my last set I only got 2reps up. This is a huge W in my book. Didn't think I'd be be able to even do more than 2 sets but you never know until you try.
In about 2 weeks time, I think I might want to try and go for a new PR... I'm sure it'll be a LONG shot But I'm eyeing 4 plates (405). Main reason I'm eyeing maxing so soon is because that's when my birthday is and I'll be turning 30. Could be one hell of a birthday present to myself if I can put up 4 plates. Fingers crossed 🤞
