Always used to use this word in a negative way. I’ve applied all the things I’ve learned from my first startup company which didn’t do as well as I had hoped. Even though it ran for 5 years I used to tell myself I had failed. Truth is that it was one massive lesson and the knowledge I have now moving forward with my current business is proving invaluable. There’s a massive difference between failing and failure!

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
This, to me, defines every fitness journey that I’ve seen. Failure is always blamed on something that’s happened or will happen. Life got busy, work schedule changed, money problems; they’re all excuses that have filtered through our lives. We’re all guilty of it but in fitness it’s more pronounced than ever.
Too often we look back at how small/big we were or how big/small we want to be. Yes goals are important but not as important as what’s inside. Looking back or looking forward it doesn’t matter if you don’t have what it takes inside.
Life gets rough. It hits hard and it hits often but how you respond to the hit is what defines you. Recently I’ve felt like everything is going wrong. I’ve got so many reasons to stop but when I look inside myself I see something that won’t quit.
Remember that your past and your future don’t define you; you define you.
