Instagram has introduced a new feature that will let you keep updated with all the new posts in the app. The change also gives users more control over their feed. The company says that users often complained that when a feed refreshes, it brings them back to the top, making them lose track of updates. That’s why the company has introduced a feature called ‘New Posts’.
The ‘New Posts’ button is currently under tests on the platform and as the name indicates, “lets you choose when you want to refresh, rather than it happening automatically.” To refresh the feed, all users need to do is to tap the button and it will take them on top of the feed.
The Facebook-owned firm has also announced that it is making changes to show newer posts first in the feed. “With these changes, your feed will feel more fresh, and you won’t miss the moments you care about. So if your best friend shares a selfie from her vacation in Australia, it will be waiting for you when you wake up.”
Instagram is likely to be working more on changing the feed as the company has promised some more ‘improvements’ coming soon.
On a related note, Instagram was spotted testing an in-built feature to embed public post inside Stories. Instagram too indirectly confirmed the feature in a statement to TechCrunch. “We’re always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram,” said the spokesperson.
The company even introduced hashtags and @mention to make the account detail more vocal for others. Adding hashtags and @mentions are easy in the account bio. All you need to do is to tap on ‘Edit Profile’ section type a # or @ to see a list of recommended hashtags and accounts in the typeahead. Selecting a hashtag or @mention will automatically add it in your bio.
