Ask yourself this one question and be totally honest. Do your children know more about Allah’s (SWT) love or his anger?
Your children know that a mothers’s love is unconditional. If they’re really smart they may understand that a mother’s love is beyond any love they have felt or will ever feel until they have children of their own one day. Do they understand that a mother’s love however, does not even begin to compare to the love that Allah (SWT) feels for them? Do they know that Allah is Al-Wadood (the Loving) and Al-Kareem (the Most-Generous)? Our children’s relationship with Allah (SWT) must first be built on this foundation of love. Just as your child first knew your love before he or she ever had a telling off from you. ————————————————
Imam Bukhari and Muslim reported that the prophet Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, “Allah has divided mercy into one hundred parts, and He kept ninety-nine parts with Him and sent down one part on the earth, and because of that, one single part. His creatures are merciful to each other, so that even the mare lifts up its hoof away from its baby animal, so that she would not trample on it.”
