You know how there's always that one book you just couldn't finish? "The Silmarillion" is that book for me. I honestly have no idea why. I adored "The Lord of the Rings" and figured it would be the same for this book, same author right? Same universe and everything. But noooo... every time I picked it up, I always ended up putting it back down again. So here's to one more shot. If it doesn't work this time I'm giving up for good 😧
“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”

Book haul! Part 1 😏
Yesterday was such a gorgeous Monday that I decided to go treat myself to some new books 🤗 I’ve done fairly well on my TBR pile if I do say so myself, and why not treat yo self every now and again!
So... guess what I’m doing today... nothing! I took a day off work. As you probably know if you’ve been around a while, I’m at work 6 days a week usually (working at a sporting / function venue) so to be able to say “Boss, I’m taking tomorrow off”, is a rarity so I’m going to enjoy it. I plan on doing, well; very little if I’m honest. It’s delightfully rainy and dreary here at the moment so I’ll probably just stay in bed a while and try and knock over another book or two. Might pop out to the shops later on, will see how I’m feeling
I’m quickly running out of time to read my TBR for this month. I’ve been so held up with a book I started in May that I don’t think I’m going to get to Crown of Midnight and The Two Towers, plus another I’d planned. I wanted to keep to one ToG book per month for my reread, so I’ll jump into that next and TTT was planned as I read Fellowship back in May, one every 3 months seemed like good pacing!
