Highland district situated in Jammu & Kashmir state of India. One of the highest deserts in the world with incredible landscapes possessing natural beauty second to none.
It is said that every picture shot here comes out beautiful. Many are amazed as to why there is minimum Flora despite water being available - River Indus as well as a number of lakes. 🤔
This pic is taken somewhere in the middle of Indian side of pangong lake - more than 190km in length, approx 2/3rd of which belongs to China.
If you are planning a visit to this natural marvel, make sure you plan a nightstay at one of the homestays in Merak or Man Village. Sunsets and Sunrises are absolutely splendid and must not be missed at any cost.
Of course if you happen to wake up in the night wear your jacket and step outside your tent and take a view of incredible unadulterated night sky. Indian government has chosen these highlands for it's highest observatory in Hanle village. Also don't forget to check out rare bird species on the lake, found exclusively in and around this region.
We all love the #auroraborealis but do you know how it makes it’s way to our #planet The sun's many magnetic fields distort and twist as our parent star rotates on its axis. When these fields become knotted together, they burst and create so-called #sunspots. Usually, these sunspots occur in pairs; the largest can be several times the size of #Earth's diameter.
