Alina Zagitova on her #DennisRodman diplomat game😂😂 meeting the President of Tatarstan. For real...don’t nobody care about North Korea + Trump🤥
I mean...Evgenia Medvedeva always said figure skating unites the world. 🤣
But...real talk, can we trade Rodman and a 2nd round pick for Alina?😂
Adelina Sotnikova: from gold medalist figure skater to…#djsotka. Yeah I definitely ain’t expecting that crossover😂😂
But S/O to her for chasing a new path though! All of her motivational posts (especially the second one) really makes sense now💯. Scared money don’t make no money.
From her Instagram caption
today: “These are the emotions that I missed! Today I am the happiest person on the planet! I'm insanely happy that my debut was a success, it was extremely difficult to keep it secret ... I will tell you the secret that no one knew why I was here ... there is no ice, the scene is huge, the people are many .... and why am I here in the end of the end?!? Why?) Get adrenaline, get your return! Charge for the future!”
No fear in diving in completely to a new activity, while still maintaining the same confidence that inspired the world after winning the 2014 Olympic Gold Medal.
Part 2 of my program-inspired poems series...this time, PARADISE by the on and only @shibsibs 😍😍😍 I absolutely loved this program, I’m a huge Coldplay fan and when the Shibs announced that their Olympic Free Dance was to be Paradise, I was so freaking happy. Both the song and the program mean a lot to me as I relate to it on a personal level, and seeing them absolutely slay the performance at Pyeongchang gave me chills. It illustrated their journey so perfectly...and it was so inspiring, as it told the world that your paradise could be found, if only one dared to dream. @maiashibutani @alexshibutani @usfigureskating @isufigureskating @coldplay #maiashibutani#alexshibutani#shibsibs#shibsibsparadise#olympics2018#pyeonchang2018 @olympicchannel #icedance
LATEST UPDATE ON THE CONFERENCE IN SEVILLE:
In what is informally known as the Alina Zagitova Rule, the panel has instituted new rules limiting bonus jumps in the second half.
Skaters are now limited to ONE second half jump in the SHORT PROGRAM, and THREE second half jumps for the FREE PROGRAM.
Given how the second half bonuses made up the difference between gold and silver during the Olympics, Evgenia Medvedeva seems to have benefited from these changes the most.
While it still remains to be seen about the changing valuations of quad jumps, this new rule is a clear response to what some referred to as Alina Zagitova’s “exploitation of an inefficiency” as well as the upcoming Russian jumping prodigies training under Eteri Tutberidze.
While older skaters like Evgenia Medvedeva, Katelyn Osmond, and Gabrielle Daleman appear to benefit, they still must be able to jump quads in the future. It’s not entirely out of the question, though. Despite the difficulty with body types, it wouldn’t be an extreme stretch to add the less demanding Quad Salchow and Loop while still maintaining high GOE for other elements.
