In The Netherlands this knife used to be part of your personal equipment when doing compulsory military service. The stamp says KL85 meaning Royal Landforce 1985. Our compulsory military service was abolished in 1997. Forthy years ago I was in the army for 16 months as sergeant, doing my military service. I took this knife home as a souvenir but it got lost😦. I got another one with a different timestamp, but lost it again😮. After years I finally found it back; well hidden in a box. It was dirty, rusty and the blade was heavily damaged and chipped. So I cleaned and oiled it and gave the blade a new satin finish and a new edge.
Now it will be part of my edc rotation again. I think I did a nice job on this one. This knife brings back so many memories! Do you have knives with lots of memories?
