Not the best focus but there I am just before Mile 8 and right next door to home running @officialbighalf today! I had an amazing time and the course was so well organised! Big shout outs to supporters @lilleyjack @claire_stander and @ellieawford... highlights include mo farah running past me (the other way I was at mile 1.5 he was at mile 5), a wave from Ian McKellan, and a big cuddle with baby Annabelle at the finish! #running#bighalf#sundayrunday#sub2hourhalf#runldn
W6:D2 tempo run at half marathon pace. 1 mi w/u and c/d. This workout was way tougher on the treadmill than when running with a group. Glad that I was able to maintain my pace but nervous about being able to keep it up for 13.1. Whatever happens, happens. Just gotta keep focused and stay as close to the plan as I can. #halfmarathontraining#project159#sub2hourhalf#goals
#ProjectSub2 is underway! It’s been awhile (cough cough since my #Ironman training last summer!) that I’ve followed an actual #training plan! 🤫Starting off a 16 week plan this week to get me to hit 1:59 at the @ottawamarathon half marathon in May. I’ve certainly lost fitness since the #IM and I have to keep telling myself that it’s ok. And normal. Training for and completing an #Ironman is tough work - both physically and emotionally. The off-season is called an off-season for a reason. Your body and mind need a break. But enough of that. Time to stop making excuses. And start working. Consistently. Are you a #runner aiming for a #sub2hourhalf? My plan calls for easy, steady, tempo, and long runs. I know I can do it. I just need to be consistent with my workouts. First up? Base building! 🏃♀️ #Run#motivation#offseason#triathlon#swimbikerun#type1diabetes#noexcuses#anythingispossible#thisgirlcan
Race day is 5 days away!! Ahhhh!! I've got to admit, after taking a short break last week and with the warm weather/humidity in full force again, I've been feeling like the goal I set for myself might be out of reach. I went out this morning and ran 3 miles at race pace and honestly, I felt gassed. You mean in 5 days I have to run 13.1 miles at THIS pace, THIS PACE?!? But then I gave myself a talking to. You CAN do this Lauren. You CAN reach your goal. You ARE able to achieve what you want to. You DO run at this pace. And on and on. I decided to quash those fears and speak to myself in a way that will lead to me succeeding. I DECIDE. So #takethat fear. You can eat my dust!
