📢 📢 Sound on ✌🏻
The Malaysian national team played their first international in three years ( vs Mongolia) on Thursday at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, which for so long had been under renovation. Malaysian football has been on the decline - a country which once used to be a powerhouse in the Asian circuit now ranks 178 in the FIFA rankings and 184 in the Elo rankings. The National Ultras group- an amalgamation of the 13 supporters group from the 13 states of the country, represents the voice of the supporters who are determined to restore the pride of the Harimau Malaya ( Malayan Tiger) on the football pitch. With their strength in numbers and in cooperation, one of the biggest and fiercest Ultras groups in Asia have frequently held demonstrations of protest against those incumbent at the Malaysian FA. Some of my greatest learnings so far on my journey around the world for football has been in their presence. If ever the movement in India sees half the success as they have I will be a happy man, but eternally grateful .
