#FBF This picture hangs in my mom’s house. It’s a reminder that if you set a goal and have a plan to achieve it, anything is possible.
People are often surprised when I tell them that I was my colleges’ drum major for 2 seasons. I’ve been on the big screen and on the TV screen. I’ve gotten prime seat views of, now, NFL stars and I even met a celebrity along the way. And it all started with a goal.
As we near June, You may be looking at your goals list like 😬 Ha! It’s not too late to cross them out as COMPLETE and add a new one. In fact, I’ll help make sure you do just that. Have you achieved the goals you set out to accomplish this year?

Long weekend you guys! 👊🏼Taking some time to do something OTHER THAN WORK, which in this case means hanging out in the suburbs of Chicago, then going to a wedding in Ohio, then back to Cali. Maybe even a workout in there! (You guys like my hat? @hgtv😉) #weekendvibes#exploring#funandfitness
The strong people became captive. Beaten down in their mind, their body and brains became weak and they became a blind nation. Israelite became slaves for 430 years in Egypt. They forgot who they were and the God that was capable and could fight for them- they labored away under taskmasters.
The same happens when you let go of who you are or reject the God that can fight for you! Don’t lose your strength to the lies of a devil.
A poem from danielle laporte ●●●
‘…to the women determined to restore the divine to where it has been pummeled out of memory,
where denial is so calcified that our beauty is last to be seen in economics and science and law laws that are too small for what our bodies know to be true.
The most powerful possible Yes to women
…to the dark, the spacious, the sweet, the jaded, the women who live as certain as light rays,
who renovate broken boardrooms and policies with justified anger and overwhelming Love —
Love of inclusion, of ecology, of bone solid Truth — Love of Love.
For those who do not have a Yes, I will share mine.
Because, I can be radiant with my power — from the erotic to the cash.
I can fight my pain in public, choose my lovers, work my genius into shelter and endless comforts.
I am free to heal and so I must braid myself to
those whose bodies are stolen, where mine has always been free;
whose ideals cannot even be whispered, where mine have been invited…
The most powerful possible Yes to these women.’ I find her words incredibly powerful and so full of fiery light that ignites any one that reads it.

TGIF! It’s been forever since I have done #fridayintroducitons & there are many new followers. So it may be time for another one. Yeeesh, I always get nervous about what to share. The pressure! I’m Yvette, aka “Mom” around this house. I’m the voice behind this IG, the blog (link in bio), & the FB page. We are currently excited for the end of the school year because that means we can sleep in, not make lunches, & hit the open road in search of adventure. For those of you who don’t know me here are a few random facts:
1️⃣I met my hubby when he was 19 & I was 17. So rad to be a senior in high school & dating a college guy. Then he broke up with me & stole my heart all over again over a decade later. Life is funny that way.
2️⃣Speaking of my husband, he is an incredibly patient man. Somehow I convinced him our 65 pound doberman should sleep in our queen bed with us because she gets cold. When we got our first dog ten years ago he vowed no dog would ever sleep in our bed. Marriage is funny that way.
-3️⃣Speaking of funny, I used to vow I would rather die than give up coffee. And now here I am eating my words, still alive, drinking tea, & missing my coffee. Once I hit 40 my body started to change so I am trying to adapt & be healthier. Getting older is funny that way.
4️⃣Speaking of getting older, I am now being punished for all the times I thought my parents were ancient when they hit 40. It’s not ancient, but karma is a bitch. Especially when you have kids to remind you that you are no longer cool.
A big thank you to all of our new followers. We appreciate you for stopping by & following our little corner of the Internet.
