Incase you need a good reason to get up and exercise this morning 👇🏼 Regular #workouts can improve your physique, trim your waistline, improve your sex life, and even add years to your life. But that’s actually not what #motivates most people to #stayactive.
People who exercise regularly tend to do so because it makes them #feelGOOD and increases their overall well-being! When I exercise, I feel more #energetic, sleep better and feel more relaxed & positive about my body & my life! But what a lot of people don’t know is that exercise is also a #powerful medicine for some of the most common #mentalhealth concerns!! ♥️Exercise & #Depression: Exercise can treat mild to moderate depression as effectively as antidepressant medication—but without the side-effects. Say what?? There are three neurotransmitters in the brain known to be connected to depression—dopamine, norepinephrine, and #serotonin. The brain 🧠 shows increased levels of all three #neurotransmitters during exercise whereas antidepressants medications can take several weeks to take effect. ♥️Exercise & Anxiety: exercise is a natural & effective anti-anxiety treatment. It relieves tension & stress, boosts physical & mental #energy, and enhances well-being through the release of endorphins. #HELLO 💪. ♥️Exercise & #Stress: As well as releasing #endorphins in the brain, #physicalactivity helps relax muscles and relieve tension in the body. Since the body and mind are so closely connected, when your body feels relaxed so will your mind😌. ♥️Exercise & ADHD: Who doesn’t want to be more focused and motivated? Exercising regularly is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce the symptoms of #ADHD and improve #concentration, motivation, #memory, and mood. That same increase of #dopamine, norepinephrine, & serotonin levels known to reduce #depression are also responsible for increased levels of focus & attention. Your ability to focus is at its best right after a workout (great study tip too 😉 you’re welcome). In this way, exercise works in much the same way as #ADHD medications such as Ritalin & #Adderall. Good luck this week😘 #freetherapy#motivationmonday#mentalhealthawareness#zombies#psychhumor
