Eureka Dunes, Death Valley National Park. Nearly 700 feet tall, Eureka is one of the highest sets of dunes in North America. It’s also a bit out there in DV and required a good 2 hour drive on gravel roads. Yet we were getting passed by people so maybe we could have cut that time down a little? Just saying @imgimagery... When we finally got there and saw the main dune, I was totally content with just shooting from the base and getting some abstract shots. “You want to climb up that thing?! Naw I’m good...” I said. But somehow I found myself heading up the dunes nonetheless, thinking I’d stop half way up after grabbing some shots like this where we could look down on some of the smaller dunes. “I’ll just see how it looks over that next ridge.. and that one... and that one... annnnddd I might as well go to the top...” So I did! It wasn’t easy but I’m really glad I “summited” the dune because it was absolutely gorgeous and a crazy feeling being that high above everything else in the surrounding valley.

Yeah so sitting down is not the most comfortable thing these days, but neither is laying or standing 😝 Regardless, I’m sure going to miss this bump in a few weeks time.
Off to enjoy a lunch with a few girlfriends for a little celebration of bub today. I decided against a baby shower but just wanted to catch up with the girls for lunch before I go MIA with two babes 🙈
"We're on the year of the Yang Earth Dog. The Dog is the eleventh animal on the repeating 12-year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac. Many stories explain the origin of the Chinese Zodiac, and I'll tell you about one of them, little buddy, the ancient story of The Great Race. Long ago, the Great Emperor of Jade asked the animals to visit him in heaven. He would divide and name the years up amongst them in the order they arrived. That's why it was a race. However, to reach their destination, the animals had to cross a river. Cat and Rat were terrible swimmers, so they used Ox to carry them across. Rat was worried it would seem ugly in comparison to Cat, so midway across the river, Rat pushed Cat into the water. Rat then jumped off Ox and rushed to the Jade Emperor, becoming the first animal of the Zodiac calendar. Ox became the second. Then, the other animals started to arrive, each one with their own story. Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, and Rooster. Ten animals were already there when Dog showed up. Dog was panting, with his tongue flapping. The Jade Emperor wondered what took Dog so long, considering Dog is such an adept swimmer. The answer? Instead of swimming across, Dog got distracted and decided to frolic and play in the water. Pig was the last animal to make it across.
Cat never made it to the meeting, which is why the cat is not part of the Chinese Zodiac and the reason why cats dislike and chase rats." - Comrade (the human)
"Poor Cat! 😾 I would've hurried up if there were treats and cuddles involved! 😋🤗 How about you, guys? In what place would you have arrived? 🤔" - Sinatra
