In troublesome times like these, it's nice to be reminded that we can see the impact of immigrants resonate with us today. Who would've thought that a place so far away from Miami (both literally and culturally) would house one of the most tasty Cubanos this country has to offer? Christina at the farmer's market is serving up the American dream, and hate it or love it, her Cubanos will make you want to scream "Viva Cuba" at the top of your lungs.
Get to the Saturday Farmers Market so you can get a little more cultured this weekend. Your belly will thank you.
Dinner last night at “Deng G” which serves “NanTang” style Sichuan food. This is not your usual pungently potent Sichuan food. It is relatively much more delicate and lighter with a balance of flavours. This type of cooking was created for the more sophisticated so one can taste the good quality ingredients used.
Presentation was prettier when chef Deng was in SH.

Couldn't give up that #toasttuesday life though! This time I split the diff with two types of @lantanafoods hummus (thanks to the mega sale at @shopritestores at $1.99 each!) Beet & Yellow Lentil with @manitobaharvest hemp hearts, crushed red pepper flakes, and just a liiiiitle frizz of @chosenfoods sesame oil. 😻 😻😻
